But many athletes will be eligible to participate in the competition as long as they are not suspected of participating in state-funded doping programs. In July, Moscow announced that an Olympic team of 335 athletes will go to Tokyo, including 50 athletes who participated in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
According to the court’s ruling, any Russian athlete who wishes to participate in the Tokyo Olympics should not be subject to “suspension, restrictions, conditions or exclusions imposed by the competent authority in any previous or future litigation”.
